Thanksgiving!

A storm rolled in Wednesday morning, prompting us to leave camp and drive to the nearest interstate town. We spent the afternoon in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Athens, AL. Shoppers were busy despite the weather. By evening, the tornado warnings drove us indoors, and we stayed at a hotel in Athens for the night.

The weather was brisk and frosty this morning. We enjoyed Thanksgiving lunch at Crackerbarrel--they do a good job for road travelers and non-cooks alike. After the feast was over, we drove into Huntsville. The Space Center is closed on holidays, but will reopen tomorrow. We were pleased to find a small rv park beside the Space Center, but discovered the lot was full. Determined, we found a lovely rv park, which I will describe in detail tomorrow.

The weather has cleared, and I am enjoying a cold, late autumn color-fest here in the north Alabama mountains. I am so thankful for my two happiest blessings--dh, a partner the thought of whom gives me a rush of excitement and adoration each morning for 12 years and counting, and always, ds, who in every way, shines beyond anything I could have expected in parenting a son.

Be well!
